This victory is not just about winning seats; it represents a collective effort by parents, voters, and advocates who believe in strong, balanced leadership for our schools.
A Community Victory Built Together
The success of electing Kyrzia Parker, Tony Ryan, Clark Callahan, and Kelly Denzler to the Douglas County School Board reflects the power of community involvement. These candidates, known as the Community’s Choice, will work alongside Susan Meek, Valerie Thompson, and Brad Geiger to guide the district for the next two years. Their shared commitment to collaboration and respect promises a positive direction for our schools.
This achievement was made possible by the dedication of many individuals who volunteered hundreds of hours, walked thousands of steps, and donated their hard earned money to Douglas County Parents and each of the four Community Choice candidates campaigns.
Each effort contributed to reaching tens of thousands of voters across Douglas County. This grassroots movement shows how collective action can shape the future of education.

The Importance of Taking Back the Majority
Since November 2021, Douglas County Parents and its supporters have been working to elected a school board that would prioritize public education with balance and respect. This 2025 election made that dream a reality by shifting the majority to leaders who share these values. The new majority will focus on policies that support students’ academic success, teacher development, and family engagement.
Every contribution, whether it was a donation, a door knock, or a shared post, played a crucial role. This collective effort shows how local democracy works best when people come together with a shared goal. Douglas County voters chose a better path for their schools, one that values transparency, cooperation, and student-centered decision-making.

Preparing for the Future: The 2027 Election
Winning this election is just the beginning. To maintain strong leadership that supports public education, Douglas County Parents (DCP) is already planning for the next major fundraising campaign in 2026. This campaign will support candidates for the 2027 school board election, ensuring that the progress made continues.
DCP operates as a Small Donor Committee, accepting contributions of up to $50 per individual per year. Every dollar raised goes directly to electing candidates who will keep the focus on students, teachers, and families. This model encourages broad community participation and keeps the campaign grounded in local support.
